About Dr. Eidt

Dr. Eidt is a highly specialized, double board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with expertise in both Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and General Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an expert in treating sports-related injuries, particularly those involving complex shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle conditions, with a focus on arthroscopic management.

He attended the military medical school, Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD, where he was elected to the national medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA). He earned his undergraduate degree in economics with a minor in chemistry from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Dr. Eidt served 16 years in the U.S. Army, providing care for both adult and pediatric patients with complex traumatic injuries. He was deployed multiple times, including a year stationed along the 38th parallel at the DMZ in South Korea. He also served in combat with the 173rd Airborne Division and the 2nd Forward Surgical Team (FST) at a forward operating base in Afghanistan, with additional assignments at military hospitals in Kandahar and Bagram. For his exceptional care of both military and civilian casualties under combat conditions, Dr. Eidt was awarded the Bronze Star.

After completing his military service, Dr. Eidt relocated with his family to Southern California and joined South Orange County Orthopaedics as a partner, where he continues to practice today. He was also one of the early contributors to the development of the orthopaedic sports medicine community in the region, helping to expand access to specialized care for athletes and active individuals. When he's not in clinic or the operating room, he serves as a consultant and team physician for St. Margaret's Episcopal School's lacrosse team and San Juan Hills High School football. Previously, he supported Trabuco Hills High School and JSerra Catholic High School in the same capacity. He has also served as team physician for the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry Division's wrestling tournaments, along with numerous other local and regional athletic events.
